Yard Sale Junkie is about a young girl named Shirley who has just graduated from college. Her father is trying to talk to her into the family business but she is determined to pursue her dream: to own a boutique in Beverly Hills. Now, she need fifty thousand dollars to get started on the boutique and her dad is not exactly planning on give the money to her, so she has to get it by her own. Her idea is to start a little yard sale business, beginning with her closer friends’ old stuff, and that’s exactly what you will be doing in this game: helping Shirley to organize and run the yard sale activity.
So, how does the yard sale work? You will be shown a messy scene full of diverse objects to sale. One customer every few seconds will appear on the screen with the inscription of what he’s looking for, for example, a ball. Then, you have to look in the yard for a ball, pick it up and deliver it to the customer who will pay you some money. The customers are a little impatient so you only have a short time available to get what they want, otherwise they will leave without buying. This same routine keeps going until you sell everything in the yard or until you run out of time. The sooner you complete the level, the more money you earn. Don’t forget that the goal is to reach fifty thousand dollars.
When you first enter the game, you’ll get to the main menu with the following options on it:
- Play New Game: to start playing a new game with the possibility to create new profiles.
- Load Game: to load a previously started game with some existing profile.
- Options: from here you can configure some game parameters such as: sound and music volume, full screen, among others.
- Quit: to close the application.
